From the Ngorongoro Crater rim, take the dirt road leading east towards Mti Mmoja. Continue on this road for about 20 kilometers, keeping an eye out for directional signs towards Mandusi Swamp. Once you reach the coordinates VH46+5PQ, you will find the swamp area. Please note that a 4x4 vehicle is recommended due to the rugged terrain.

If you are using public transportation, you will need to take a bus or shared taxi from Karatu to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area entrance. Upon entering, look for a local taxi or guide who can take you to Mandusi Swamp. The journey may take longer, and it’s advisable to negotiate the fare beforehand. Expect to pay around $50-70 for the taxi ride from the entrance to Mandusi Swamp, depending on the negotiation.

For the adventurous, if you are already near Mti Mmoja, you can hike towards Mandusi Swamp. Starting from Mti Mmoja, walk towards the coordinates VH46+5PQ. The hike is approximately 5 kilometers and takes roughly 1.5 to 2 hours. Ensure you have a guide with you for safety and direction, as the paths may not be well marked.
