Walking
From the center of Singida, start at the main bus station (Njiro Bus Terminal). Head south on the main road (B1) for about 2 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the road to Basotu. Look for signs indicating the direction to Basotu. Follow this road for approximately 15 kilometers, which will take you through local villages and scenic landscapes. Be aware that this road can be dusty and uneven, so wear comfortable shoes and carry water. Once you arrive in Basotu village, ask locals for directions to Lake Basotu, which is about a 10-minute walk from the village center.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from a local shop in Singida. Start your journey at the Njiro Bus Terminal, heading south on the B1 road. Continue for about 2 kilometers until you reach the turnoff for Basotu. This route is approximately 15 kilometers long. Cycling will give you the opportunity to enjoy the local scenery. Make sure to take breaks, as the ride can be tiring. Upon reaching Basotu village, secure your bike and walk to Lake Basotu, which is about a 10-minute stroll from the village.
Local Transport (Boda-Boda)
From Singida, you can take a 'boda-boda' (motorbike taxi) to Basotu. Head to the Njiro Bus Terminal and negotiate a fare with a boda-boda driver to take you directly to Basotu. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes, depending on road conditions. Once you reach Basotu, the driver can drop you off near the village center. From there, ask locals for directions to Lake Basotu, which is a short 10-minute walk away.
