Car
If you're driving, start your journey from Mbeya city. Head south on the A104 road towards Vwawa, which is approximately 100 km away. The drive will take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you reach Vwawa, look for the V2RP+WVH coordinates on your GPS. The Mbozi Meteorite is located just off the main road; you can park nearby.
Public Transportation
To reach Mbozi Meteorite via public transport, take a bus from Mbeya to Vwawa. Buses leave frequently from the Mbeya bus terminal. The journey takes about 2 hours and costs approximately 5,000 TZS. Once you arrive in Vwawa, you can either walk to the Mbozi Meteorite location, which is about 1 km away, or hire a local motorcycle taxi (boda-boda) for about 1,000 TZS.
Walking
If you prefer to walk from Vwawa to the Mbozi Meteorite, exit the bus station and head towards the main road. Walk northwest on the Vwawa road for about 15 minutes until you reach the coordinates V2RP+WVH. The site is marked and should be visible from the road.
Boda-Boda (Motorcycle Taxi)
After arriving in Vwawa, you can hire a boda-boda to take you directly to the Mbozi Meteorite. The cost is usually around 1,000 TZS, and it will take about 5 minutes to reach the site. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey.
