Getting There

Walking
Start from the Darajani Market, which is a central point in Stone Town. Exit the market and head north on Mkunazini Street. Continue straight until you reach the junction with Kenyatta Road. Turn left onto Kenyatta Road and walk towards the waterfront. As you approach the water, you will see the ferry terminal ahead. Keep walking along the coast until you reach the area known as Forodhani Gardens. From here, you will need to catch a 'dala-dala' (local minibus) or a shared taxi heading towards Nungwi or Kendwa. Make sure to tell the driver your destination is Kendwa Beach. The journey will take approximately 1 hour, depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Kendwa, ask a local for directions to the Kendwa Beach Gallery, which is about a 10-minute walk from the main road.

Walking and Public Transport
From the Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe) in Stone Town, head north on Gizenga Street towards the coast. When you reach the waterfront, turn right and continue walking until you arrive at the Forodhani Gardens. From here, look for a 'dala-dala' (shared minibus) heading to Nungwi or Kendwa. Let the driver know your destination is Kendwa Beach. After about an hour ride, you'll arrive in Kendwa. Once you get off the bus, ask locals for directions to Kendwa Beach Gallery, which is a short walk away.
