Getting There

Walking
From anywhere in Stone Town, head towards the Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe). Once you reach the fort, proceed towards the waterfront. Follow the road along the coast until you reach the junction with the main road (Mizingani Rd). Turn left onto Mizingani Rd and continue until you reach the bus station. Take a dala-dala (shared minibus) heading towards Kiwengwa. The fare is usually very affordable. After about 30-40 minutes, get off at the Kiwengwa stop. From there, walk towards the beach along the Unnamed Road. Kiwengwa Beach will be on your left.

Dala-Dala
Start at the Forodhani Gardens in Stone Town. Walk to the nearest dala-dala station located on the corner of Kenyatta Road and Mizingani Road. Look for a dala-dala headed for Kiwengwa. Once you board, it will take around 30-40 minutes to reach Kiwengwa. When you arrive, ask the driver to let you know when you reach the stop for Kiwengwa Beach. After you get off, follow the Unnamed Road toward the coast, and you will find Kiwengwa Beach on your left.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Stone Town. Start by heading towards the Old Fort and follow the same route as described for walking. Cycle along the coast on Mizingani Rd until you reach the bus station. From there, you can continue cycling towards Kiwengwa. The ride will take around 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Kiwengwa, follow the Unnamed Road toward the beach, where Kiwengwa Beach awaits on your left.
