Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Stone Town, head towards the waterfront at Forodhani Gardens. Once you reach the sea, continue walking along the coast until you reach the Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe). From the Old Fort, follow the coast heading north until you reach the ferry terminal. Take the path on your left that leads you towards the beach area. Keep walking along the path until you see signs for Muyuni Beach and follow them. The beach is located at Kijambani, and you will see it on your left as you approach.

  • Bicycle

    Rent a bicycle from one of the shops in Stone Town. Start from the central market area and cycle towards the waterfront. Head north along the coast until you reach the Old Fort. From there, continue cycling along the coast road, making sure to keep following the signs towards Kijambani. The road will take you directly to Muyuni Beach. It's approximately a 20-minute ride, so enjoy the coastal views along the way.

  • Public Transport (Dalla Dalla)

    At the market area in Stone Town, find the Dalla Dalla station. Look for a Dalla Dalla heading towards Kijambani or Muyuni Beach. Board the Dalla Dalla and inform the driver of your destination. The ride will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Kijambani stop, get off and walk towards the beach, following the signs that point to Muyuni Beach.
