Getting There

  • Walking

    Start at the historic Forodhani Gardens in Stone Town. From the gardens, head south towards the Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe). As you reach the Old Fort, continue along the shoreline on the path leading to the waterfront. Keep walking along the coast until you reach the intersection of Kenyatta Road. Turn left onto Kenyatta Road and continue straight. You will pass several shops and local vendors along the way. After about 10-15 minutes of walking, you will reach the intersection with Mkunazini Road. Turn right onto Mkunazini Road and continue walking until you reach the main road. Old German Boma will be located on your left, just past the junction with the road leading to the beach.

    If you are near the House of Wonders, start by heading towards the sea. Walk down to the beach and then turn left along the waterfront. Continue walking until you reach the Old Fort. From there, follow the instructions above to reach Old German Boma via Kenyatta Road.

    From the Zanzibar Curio Shop, which is a popular spot in Stone Town, head west towards the beach. Once you reach the beach, turn left and walk along the shoreline towards the Old Fort. After reaching the Old Fort, follow Kenyatta Road as described previously to reach Old German Boma.
