Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Stone Town (for example, from the Darajani Market), head east towards the waterfront. Walk along the coast until you reach the Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe). Continue past the Old Fort, following the coastline along the Forodhani Gardens. Keep walking along the water until you reach the junction with Karume Road. Turn left onto Karume Road and walk straight. Sansibar will be located on your right side at R6M3+QGM, Karume Rd, Zanzibar.

  • Bicycle

    Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Stone Town. Start from the Old Fort, cycling towards the waterfront. Follow the path along Forodhani Gardens, then turn left onto Karume Road. Continue cycling straight down Karume Road until you reach Sansibar at R6M3+QGM, Karume Rd, Zanzibar. The ride should take around 10-15 minutes.

  • Tuk-Tuk

    Find a tuk-tuk from any popular location in Stone Town, such as the Forodhani Gardens or the Old Fort. Inform the driver that you want to go to Sansibar located on Karume Road. The driver will take you directly there, and the journey should take about 5-10 minutes depending on traffic.

  • Local Bus (Dala Dala)

    Although it may be less convenient, you can take a local Dala Dala from the main bus station in Stone Town. Look for a bus heading towards the airport or Jambiani, but make sure to ask the driver to drop you off at or near Karume Road.
