Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Forodhani Gardens, head east towards the main road, Kelele Square. From there, turn left onto Kenyatta Road and continue walking straight. After about 400 meters, you will reach the intersection with Cathedral Street. Turn right onto Cathedral Street, and St Joseph's Cathedral will be on your left-hand side after approximately 200 meters. Look for the large, distinctive architecture of the cathedral.

    From the Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe), exit the fort and walk towards the main road, then take a left onto Mkunazini Street. Continue straight for about 600 meters until you reach a T-junction. Turn right at the junction onto Cathedral Street, and St Joseph's Cathedral will be a short walk down this road on your right.

    Starting from the House of Wonders, walk south towards the waterfront. Continue walking along the coast until you reach the intersection with Mkunazini Street. Turn left onto Mkunazini Street and walk straight for about 500 meters. At the T-junction, turn left onto Cathedral Street, and you will find St Joseph's Cathedral on your right-hand side.
