Getting There

• Car Rental

  If you are renting a car, head southeast from Stone Town, the capital of Zanzibar. Take the A1 road towards Chwaka Bay. After about 40 minutes of driving (approximately 40 km), look for signs to Paje. You will take a right turn onto Paje Road, which will lead you directly to the beach area. Parking is available near Paje Beach, and expect to pay a small fee (around 2,000 TZS) for parking.

• Public Bus (Dala Dala)

  To reach Paje Beach using public transportation, find a Dala Dala (minibus) heading to Paje from the Darajani Bus Station in Stone Town. The ride costs about 2,000 TZS and takes approximately 1 hour. The Dala Dala will drop you off at the main road in Paje. From there, you can walk approximately 10 minutes towards the beach. Look for signs directing you to the beach access points.

• Taxi

  For a more direct and comfortable option, consider hiring a taxi from Stone Town to Paje Beach. The journey takes about 45 minutes and the fare ranges from 30,000 to 50,000 TZS, depending on negotiation. Make sure to agree on the price before starting the journey. The taxi will take you directly to the beach, where you can easily find parking.

• Bicycle Rental

  If you are feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle in Stone Town and cycle to Paje Beach. This scenic ride takes about 2-3 hours and covers roughly 50 km. Follow the main roads towards Paje while enjoying the views of the countryside. Be cautious of traffic and ensure you have plenty of water and sun protection. You can find bike rental shops in Stone Town, with costs ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 TZS for a day's rental.
