Look for local signage that says 'Selem Beach' as you approach the sandy shore.

Bicycle
You can rent a bicycle from any of the local shops in Stone Town. Once you have your bicycle, head towards the coast and follow the main road (Mizingani Road) that runs along the waterfront. Continue cycling, and you will eventually see signs for Selem Beach as you approach the outskirts of Stone Town. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes, and the views along the coast are beautiful.

Public Transport (Dala Dala)
From the center of Zanzibar City, head to the Dala Dala station near Darajani Market. Look for a Dala Dala that is heading towards the beaches; there may be signs indicating routes to Nungwi or Kendwa, which typically pass by Selem Beach. Once on the Dala Dala, pay the fare (usually a small amount) and inform the driver that you are going to Selem Beach. The journey will take about 30-45 minutes. Get off when the driver signals that you are nearing the beach area, and ask locals for directions if necessary.
