To reach Sheep Cave at Virgin Falls Trail, Sparta, TN 38583, start your journey by navigating to Sparta, Tennessee. If you're coming from Nashville, take Interstate 40 East for about 90 miles. Take exit 288 towards Sparta and follow TN-111 N for approximately 12 miles until you reach Sparta. Once in Sparta, follow signs to Virgin Falls State Natural Area. Turn onto Virgin Falls Trail, which is a gravel road. Continue on this road until you reach the parking area. Please note that there are no fees for parking, but be sure to check for any updates on trail conditions before you go.

If you are utilizing public transportation, the closest bus station is in Cookeville, TN. From Cookeville, you would need to take a taxi or rideshare service to reach Sparta, as public transportation options may be limited. Once in Sparta, you can follow the same directions as above to reach Virgin Falls Trail. After arriving at the parking area, the trail to Sheep Cave is accessible via a short hike from the parking lot. Make sure to wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring water. The hike is relatively easy and offers beautiful views, but be prepared for some uneven terrain.
