Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car within Chattanooga Valley, start by heading southwest on Main St toward W 5th St. Continue on Main St, then turn left onto TN-58 S. Follow TN-58 S for about 3 miles until you reach the intersection with I-24. Merge onto I-24 S and continue for approximately 6 miles. Take exit 185 for US-27 S toward Lookout Mountain. Stay on US-27 S for about 4 miles, and then take the exit for TN-148 W/Lookout Mountain. Continue on TN-148 W for about 2 miles until you reach the Glen Falls parking area, which will be on your right. Note that parking may incur a small fee, typically around $5 for the day.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer public transportation, start by taking the CARTA bus from downtown Chattanooga. Board the bus at the nearest stop to your location and take Route 11 towards Lookout Mountain. The bus will take you along the route that leads toward the area near Glen Falls. Be sure to ask the driver for the closest stop to Glen Falls. Once you get off the bus, you may need to walk approximately 1 mile to reach the Glen Falls trailhead. Be prepared for a short hike to the falls. Check the CARTA website for the most current schedules and fare information, as the cost is typically around $1.50 per ride.

• Biking

  For those who enjoy biking, you can rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops in Chattanooga. Start your ride from downtown, heading towards the Riverwalk. Follow the Riverwalk until you reach the trailhead for the Lookout Mountain trails. The bike ride to Glen Falls is about 6 miles from downtown, and it will take approximately 30 minutes to an hour depending on your pace and traffic conditions. Ensure you have a bike lock for your rental and be cautious of any traffic along the route. Biking rentals typically cost around $15 per day.
