Car
If you are driving, start from the main entrance of Fall Creek Falls State Park. Follow the park road towards the visitor center and continue straight until you reach the intersection with the signs for the various hiking trails. Look for signs directing you toward the 'Cataract Falls Trail.' The parking area for the trailhead is located near the entrance of the trail. Please note that there is a small parking fee of $5 per vehicle, which is valid for the entire day.
Hiking
After parking, exit your vehicle and locate the Cataract Falls Trailhead. The trail is well-marked and begins just a short walk from the parking area. Follow the trail for approximately 1.5 miles. The path is moderately easy, suitable for families, but be prepared for some uneven terrain. As you make your way, enjoy the surrounding nature and listen for the sound of the falls as you approach. The falls will be visible from the trail, and you’ll find several vantage points for photos.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, check local bus services that may operate to Fall Creek Falls State Park. Once you arrive at the park entrance, you will need to either walk or use a rideshare service to get to the visitor center. At the visitor center, inquire about the best hiking options to Cataract Falls. It is advised to plan your visit during the park's operational hours to ensure you have enough time to enjoy the hike back and forth.
