If you are in the heart of Gatlinburg, start at the Gatlinburg Convention Center. Head south on Historic Nature Trail toward E Parkway (US-441). Turn left on E Parkway and walk for approximately 1.5 miles. You will reach the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Continue into the park on the main road, and follow the signs for Abrams Falls Trail, which is located off the Little River Road. The trailhead is well-marked and should be visible as you approach the area.
Biking
If you have access to a bike, you can start at the Gatlinburg Community Center. Head east on E Parkway (US-441) for about 1.5 miles. As you near the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, keep an eye out for the signs directing you to Abrams Falls Trail. The bike path runs parallel to the road, providing a safe route. Once you reach the park entrance, follow the road into the park, and look for the Abrams Falls parking area on your right. From there, you can park your bike and start your hike.
Public Transport
For those preferring public transport, you can take the Gatlinburg Trolley to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park stop. The trolley runs regularly throughout Gatlinburg, so check the schedule for the next departure. Once you arrive at the park entrance, follow the signs for Abrams Falls Trail. It is about a 1-mile walk to the trailhead from the trolley stop, and the path is well-marked.
