From downtown Knoxville, head to the Knoxville Area Transit (KAT) bus station. Take the KAT route 12 (Island Home) bus. Ensure to check the schedule for the latest departure times as they can vary. Stay on the bus for approximately 20-25 minutes until you reach the Island Home Avenue stop. From there, walk south on Island Home Avenue for about 0.2 miles until you see the entrance to Ijams Nature Center on your left.

Bicycle
If you're renting a bike, start from downtown Knoxville and head southeast towards the waterfront. Follow the Knoxville Greenway, which connects to the Ijams Nature Center. The ride is approximately 3 miles and will take about 15-20 minutes. Follow the signs for the Greenway that leads to Island Home Avenue. Once you reach Island Home Avenue, continue until you see the entrance to Ijams on your right.

Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and want to walk, start at the Knoxville Convention Center. Walk southeast on Clinch Avenue, then turn left onto Gay Street and cross the Tennessee River using the James White Parkway pedestrian bridge. Continue onto Island Home Avenue. The total walking distance is around 3.5 miles, which will take approximately 1.5 hours. Once you reach the entrance of Ijams Nature Center, enjoy exploring the trails and exhibits.
