From the center of Downtown Memphis, head south on Main Street toward East Carolina Avenue. Continue straight for about 5 blocks until you reach the intersection with Beale Street. Turn left onto Beale Street and walk for another 3 blocks. You will pass various shops and restaurants. When you reach the intersection with South Front Street, turn right. Continue walking for 2 more blocks until you reach Army Park. The 1866 Memphis Historic Marker is located within Army Park.

If you're near the Main Street Trolley line, board the trolley heading southbound. Get off at the 'Army Park' stop. From there, walk east towards the park entrance.
