Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car from Rock City, start by heading south on Scenic Highway. After about 1.5 miles, turn left onto Ochs Highway. Continue on Ochs Highway for just under 2 miles until you reach the intersection with Lookout Mountain Scenic Highway. Turn right onto Lookout Mountain Scenic Highway, and follow the signs for Glen Falls, approximately 1 mile ahead. Look for the Glen Falls parking area on your left. There is no parking fee, but be aware that the area can get busy on weekends.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Glen Falls via public transportation, you will first need to take a bus from downtown Chattanooga. Look for the Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) bus service. Take the bus route that heads toward Lookout Mountain. You may need to transfer to another route depending on the schedule. Once you arrive at the Lookout Mountain area, you can either walk or use a rideshare service to reach the Glen Falls trailhead, which is about a mile from the nearest bus stop. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as service may be limited on weekends.

• Walking

  For those already in the vicinity and looking to walk to Glen Falls, you can start at the nearest bus stop or parking area and head southwest on Lookout Mountain Scenic Highway. There will be a marked trailhead for Glen Falls off the highway. The hike to the falls is about a half-mile and can be steep in places, so wear appropriate footwear. There is no entrance fee for the falls, making it an excellent free attraction for visitors.
