If you are driving from the main entrance of Rock City, head south on Scenic Hwy for about 0.5 miles. You will reach a fork in the road; take the left fork onto Ochs Highway. Continue on Ochs Highway for approximately 1.5 miles until you reach the Sunset Rock parking area on your right. There is no fee to park at Sunset Rock.

From Rock City, you can take a local bus (Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority - CARTA) that services the area. Board the bus at the nearest stop and ask the driver for the route that goes towards Lookout Mountain. Get off at the nearest stop to Sunset Rock, which is about 1 mile away. From there, you can walk to the Sunset Rock trailhead. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance for timings.

If you're already in Rock City and prefer a walking route, exit Rock City and walk south on Scenic Hwy. After about a mile, turn left onto Ochs Highway. Continue walking for an additional mile until you reach the Sunset Rock trailhead. The trail is well-marked, and the walk provides beautiful views along the way.
