Walking
If you are starting from the Texas State Capitol, exit the Capitol grounds and head south on Congress Avenue. Continue walking for about 0.5 miles until you reach 1100 Congress Ave. The Volunteer Firemen Monument will be located on the east side of the street, just in front of the Texas State Cemetery.
Public Transit
From the Austin Convention Center, walk to the nearest bus stop at 2nd St & Red River. Board the MetroBus Route 4 (MLK Jr. Station) and ride for approximately 10 minutes. Get off at the stop at 11th St & Congress Ave, then walk north on Congress Avenue for 1 block until you reach 1100 Congress Ave. The monument is located on your left.
Biking
If you are renting a bike, start from the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail. Ride west until you reach the Congress Avenue Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue heading north on Congress Avenue for about 0.3 miles. The Volunteer Firemen Monument will be located at 1100 Congress Ave, on your right, just before you reach the Texas State Cemetery.
