The Enchanting Congress Avenue Bridge Observation Deck

Getting There

• Walking

  If you're starting in South Congress, head north on South Congress Avenue toward the river. Continue walking for approximately 0.5 miles (about 10-15 minutes). You will cross over the intersection at Riverside Drive. As you approach the river, turn left onto the Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge. The observation deck is located on the bridge, and you will find designated viewing areas on both sides of the bridge. Make sure to enjoy the views of Lady Bird Lake and the skyline of downtown Austin.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer to bike, you can rent a bike from one of the many bike share stations in South Congress. Head north on South Congress Avenue toward the river, then take a left onto the bike lane that leads to the Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge. It's a short ride of about 0.5 miles (approximately 5-10 minutes). Be cautious of pedestrians as you approach the bridge. Once you arrive, you can park your bike in the designated bike racks near the observation deck.

• Public Transit (Bus)

  You can take the Capital Metro Bus service if you prefer public transit. Locate the nearest bus stop in South Congress, such as the one near South Congress Avenue and Riverside Drive. Take bus route 1 (North Lamar/South Congress) towards the downtown area. Disembark at the stop closest to the Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge (usually at Congress Avenue and 1st Street). From there, it's a short walk of around 5 minutes to reach the observation deck on the bridge.
