Getting There

• Public Bus

  Start at the nearest bus stop and take the Island Transit bus route that heads towards Moody Gardens. The most common starting point for tourists is the Galveston Visitor Center located at 2328 Broadway St. Board the bus (Route 1 or 2) and stay on until you reach the Moody Gardens stop. The journey typically takes about 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you disembark, follow the signs towards the entrance, which is just a short walk from the bus stop.

• Bicycle Rental

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Galveston. Start your ride heading southwest on Seawall Blvd. Continue along this road until you reach the intersection with 61st Street. Turn left onto 61st Street and follow it until you reach the entrance of Moody Gardens located on your right at 1 Hope Blvd. The distance is approximately 3 miles and should take around 15-20 minutes depending on your cycling speed.

• Walking

  If you are near the Seawall area, you can take a scenic walk to Moody Gardens. Head west on the Seawall Boulevard until you reach 61st Street. Turn left onto 61st Street and walk straight until you reach the entrance of Moody Gardens at 1 Hope Blvd. This route is about 1.5 miles and should take around 30-40 minutes. Enjoy the beautiful views of the Gulf along the way!

  For a quick and convenient option, you can use a taxi or rideshare service like Uber or Lyft. Simply request a ride from your current location to Moody Gardens at 1 Hope Blvd. The drive usually takes about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic.
