Walking
If you are near the Valley Ranch Library located at 2621 W. Lake Highlands Dr., start walking east towards N MacArthur Blvd. It should take about 15-20 minutes. Once you reach N MacArthur Blvd, turn right and walk south until you reach the intersection with I-635. Cross the street carefully and continue walking on the sidewalk along I-635. After about 10 minutes, you will see the entrance to Sam Houston Trail Park on your left. The park is located at 101 I-635, Irving, TX 75038.
Bicycle
For cyclists, begin at the Valley Ranch Library and head east on Lake Highlands Dr. until you reach N MacArthur Blvd. Turn right and follow N MacArthur Blvd south. There are bike lanes available. Continue until you reach the I-635 intersection. Cross at the designated crosswalk and ride along the bike-friendly path that runs alongside I-635. Sam Houston Trail Park will be on your left after about 10 minutes of cycling.
Public Transport (Bus)
To reach Sam Houston Trail Park using public transport, locate the nearest bus stop for the DART bus service. Take Bus Route 404 from the Valley Ranch area heading towards the 'Northwest Highway' stop. The bus ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive at the stop, walk back toward I-635 and head east. The park entrance will be on your right at 101 I-635. Please check the DART website for the latest schedule and fare information, as a one-way fare will typically cost around $2.50.
