From the Lubbock city center, head to the nearest bus stop. Take the Citibus Route 5 (Civic Center Route) towards East 19th Street. Stay on the bus for approximately 15 minutes until you reach the stop at North University Avenue and 19th Street. Transfer to Route 22 (Lubbock Airport Route) and continue for about 20 minutes. Get off at the stop closest to the Lubbock Airport. From there, it’s about a 15-minute walk to the Silent Wings Museum. Head southeast on Texas 84 Frontage Road, then turn left onto East 19th Street, and finally turn right onto North University Avenue, where the museum is located.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from a local shop in the city center. Head south on University Avenue towards East 19th Street. Follow East 19th Street for about 3 miles, which will take you directly to the Silent Wings Museum. The route is mostly flat and bike-friendly. Once you reach the museum, you can lock your bike at the designated bike racks.
Walking
If you are staying near the city center, you can walk to Silent Wings Museum. Start by heading south on University Avenue. Continue walking straight for about 2.5 miles. When you reach East 19th Street, turn left and continue for another half mile until you reach the museum. Be sure to follow sidewalks and pedestrian crossings for safety.
