Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving, head south on Park Road 22. The Malaquite Visitor Center is located at 20420 Park Rd 22, Corpus Christi, TX 78418. Look for signs along the road as you approach the park entrance. The visitor center is situated just off the main road, making it easily accessible. There is no entrance fee for the visitor center, but if you are entering the Padre Island National Seashore, be aware that there may be a vehicle entrance fee.

• Public Transportation

  Public transportation options directly to Padre Island National Seashore are limited. However, you can take a bus to Corpus Christi and then use a rideshare service or taxi to reach the Malaquite Visitor Center. From downtown Corpus Christi, look for a bus route that goes towards the island, then upon reaching the nearest stop, call a rideshare service to take you the remaining distance to 20420 Park Rd 22. Ensure to check local bus schedules for the most current routes and timings.

• Biking

  If you enjoy biking, consider renting a bike in Corpus Christi and riding to the visitor center. There are bike-friendly paths along Park Road 22. The ride can be scenic, but be prepared for a longer journey. Make sure to wear a helmet and bring plenty of water, especially during warm weather. Upon arrival, secure your bike at the designated bike rack outside the visitor center.
