Getting There

• Songthaew

  To reach Mae Kampong Waterfall from the center of Chiang Mai, head to the Old City area and find a Songthaew (red truck taxi) that is going to Mae On. You can catch a Songthaew from the main road near Tha Phae Gate. Tell the driver you want to go to Mae Kampong Waterfall. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the entrance to Mae Kampong, you may need to walk a short distance to the waterfall itself.

• Tuk-Tuk

  For a more personalized ride, you can hire a Tuk-Tuk from the Old City or your accommodation. Negotiate the fare beforehand, usually around 400-600 THB one way. Ask the driver to take you to Mae Kampong Waterfall. This option is more flexible and allows you to stop along the way for photos or refreshments.

• Motorbike Taxi

  If you're comfortable with riding, you can use a motorbike taxi service. These are usually found at busy intersections or you can book one via a mobile app. Provide the driver with the destination 'Mae Kampong Waterfall' and they will take you directly. This option is quicker but ensure you wear a helmet for safety.

• Bicycle Rental

  For the adventurous, consider renting a bicycle from one of the shops in Chiang Mai. Head out towards the Mae On District which is about 25 km from the city center. Follow the main road (Superhighway Road) and look for signs directing you to Mae Kampong. It's a scenic ride but be prepared for some uphill terrain as you approach the waterfall.
