Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Old City area, head towards the eastern part of the city. Exit through the Tha Phae Gate and walk straight down Ratchadamnoen Road. Continue walking for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Huay Kaew Road. Turn left onto Huay Kaew Road and walk straight for approximately 600 meters. Keep an eye out for the Saun Dok Gate on your right, where you will see a large historic structure.

  • Tuk-tuk

    To take a tuk-tuk, find a tuk-tuk stand or hail one from the street. Tell the driver you want to go to Saun Dok Gate (or you can show them the address: QXQH+H8R, Tambon Si Phum). The ride from the Old City will take about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure to confirm the fare before you get in.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in the Old City. Head out of the Old City through Tha Phae Gate and ride down Ratchadamnoen Road. After about 1 kilometer, turn left onto Huay Kaew Road. Continue riding for approximately 600 meters, and Saun Dok Gate will be on your right-hand side. There are bike racks available near the gate.

  • Songthaew

    To take a songthaew (shared taxi), find one at a designated stop or flag one down on the street. Communicate to the driver that you want to go to Saun Dok Gate. The fare is usually around 30-50 baht, and the ride from the Old City should take about 15 minutes. Be sure to ask the driver to drop you off as close to the gate as possible.
