Car
If you're driving from the Doi Inthanon National Park entrance, take the main road leading into the park. Follow the signs for Doi Inthanon Summit. The drive is approximately 40 minutes from the park entrance, and the road is well-maintained but can be steep in sections. Be cautious of any wildlife on the road. There may be a small entrance fee for the national park, typically around 300 THB for adults and 150 THB for children.
Public Transportation
To reach Doi Inthanon Summit via public transport, you can take a songthaew (shared taxi) from the nearest town, Chom Thong. Board a songthaew at the Chom Thong market that is headed to Doi Inthanon National Park. The fare is approximately 50-100 THB per person. Inform the driver that you want to go to the summit. Note that the songthaew will only operate until late afternoon, so plan your return accordingly.
Hiking
For the more adventurous, you can hike to the summit from the nearest trailhead. The hike is challenging and can take about 2-3 hours depending on your fitness level. Start at the Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail, which is well-marked. Make sure to bring sufficient water and snacks, as there are no facilities along the way. Keep in mind that this option is only recommended for experienced hikers.
