Car
If you're driving from Chiang Rai, head north on Route 1 (Phahonyothin Road) towards Mae Sai. After about 60 kilometers, you'll reach the town of Mae Sai. Continue following the signs for Doi Tung. Turn left onto Route 1093, which leads you towards Doi Tung. Stay on this road for approximately 12 kilometers until you see the signs for Doi Tung. Follow the signs until you reach the parking area.
Public Transportation
To reach Doi Tung by public transportation, take a minivan from Chiang Rai Bus Terminal to Mae Sai. Minivans leave frequently throughout the day and the journey takes about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Mae Sai, you can hire a local songthaew (shared taxi) to take you directly to Doi Tung. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand; it should cost around 300-400 THB for a round trip. Inform the driver you want to go to Doi Tung, and they will drop you off at the entrance.
