Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, head south on Route 401 from the main entrance of Khao Sok National Park. Continue on this road for about 10 km until you reach the Khlong Sok area. Look for signs directing you to Khao Sok Elephant Sanctuary. The sanctuary is located at 43 Khlong Sok, Phanom District, Surat Thani 84250. Parking is available on-site.

  • Public Bus

    Take a local bus from Surat Thani City to Khao Sok. The buses depart frequently from the Surat Thani Bus Terminal. Inform the driver that you are going to Khao Sok Elephant Sanctuary. Once you arrive at Khao Sok, you may need to walk or take a songthaew (shared taxi) to reach the sanctuary at 43 Khlong Sok, Phanom District, Surat Thani 84250, which is about 5 km away from the bus drop-off point.

  • Songthaew

    If you're already in Khao Sok village, you can take a songthaew to the Khao Sok Elephant Sanctuary. Simply wait at the main road and look for a songthaew heading to Khlong Sok. The fare is typically around 30-50 THB per person, and the ride will take approximately 15 minutes to reach the sanctuary.

  • Walking

    For adventurous travelers, walking from Khao Sok village to the sanctuary is an option. The distance is about 5 km and will take roughly 1-1.5 hours. Head southeast on the main road and follow the signs to Khao Sok Elephant Sanctuary. Be prepared for some steep hills and bring plenty of water.
