Public Transportation - Songthaew
To reach Lighthouse Beach from your accommodation in Koh Tao, start by finding a songthaew (a shared taxi truck). You can typically find songthaews near major beaches such as Sairee Beach or at the pier. Inform the driver that you want to go to Lighthouse Beach (or 'Haad Tien' as it is also known) and they will drop you off at the main road nearby. The fare is usually around 50-100 THB depending on your starting point.

Walking from Songthaew Drop-off
After being dropped off on the main road, you will need to walk. Head towards the direction of Haad Tien Beach, following the signs. The walk to Lighthouse Beach is approximately 25-30 minutes and can involve some uphill paths. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as the path can be a bit rugged.

Rental Scooter
If you prefer more independence, consider renting a scooter. There are many rental shops in Koh Tao. Rent a scooter for about 150-300 THB per day. Once you have your scooter, head towards the south of the island. Follow the road signs towards Haad Tien Beach, making sure to proceed cautiously as some parts of the road can be steep or winding. Once you reach the beach area, park your scooter and walk the remaining distance to Lighthouse Beach.
