Songthaew
From anywhere in Koh Tao, you can catch a Songthaew (a shared taxi pickup truck) that travels around the island. You can find them at various spots, including near Sairee Beach or the main pier. Simply hop on and ask the driver to take you to Mae Haad Beach. The fare is usually around 30-50 THB per person, depending on your pickup location.
Motorbike Rental
If you prefer to travel at your own pace, consider renting a motorbike. You can rent one from various shops located in the main areas, such as Sairee or near the pier. Rentals typically cost around 150-300 THB per day. To get to Mae Haad Beach, head south from Sairee Beach along the main road for about 2 kilometers. The beach is well-signposted, and you can park your bike at designated areas near the beach.
Walking
If you're staying close to Mae Haad Beach, walking is a great option. From Sairee Beach, it's approximately a 30-minute walk. Head south along the beach road, following the signs to Mae Haad Beach. This route offers beautiful views and a chance to enjoy the island's scenery. Make sure to stay hydrated and wear comfortable shoes as the path can be uneven in parts.
