Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the center of Mae Hong Son, start at the Mae Hong Son Lake, which is a popular spot and easy to find. From the lake, head northwest on the main road (Chong Kham Road) for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with the road leading to Doi Kongmu. At this intersection, turn left and continue straight. You'll begin to see signs for Wat Phra That Doi Kongmu. The road will incline as you approach the temple. After about 600 meters, you'll arrive at the entrance of Wat Phra That Doi Kongmu.

  • Tuk-tuk

    From your location in Mae Hong Son, look for a nearby tuk-tuk stand, which are usually found close to markets or tourist areas. Inform the driver that you want to go to Wat Phra That Doi Kongmu. The fare should be around 50-100 THB, depending on your starting point. The driver will take you directly to the temple; just relax and enjoy the scenic ride up the hill. The tuk-tuk will drop you off at the entrance of the temple.

Follow the signs for Wat Phra That Doi Kongmu until you reach the temple entrance.
