Getting there

Songthaew

To reach Nam Lod Cave from the center of Mae Hong Son, find a local songthaew (shared taxi) at the main bus station or along the streets near the market. Inform the driver that you want to go to Tham Lot Cave (Nam Lod Cave). The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. The songthaew will drop you off at the entrance of the cave area.

Motorbike Rental

If you're comfortable riding a motorbike, you can rent one from various shops in Mae Hong Son. Start at the Mae Hong Son city center and head northwest on Rte. 108. Continue for about 26 kilometers until you see signs for Tham Lot Cave. Turn left onto the side road that leads directly to the cave entrance. The total ride should take approximately 40 minutes.

Bicycle Rental

For adventurous travelers, consider renting a bicycle. Start your journey from the center of Mae Hong Son and ride northwest on Rte. 108. The ride is about 26 kilometers, and it will take around 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your fitness level. Follow the signs for Tham Lot Cave and enjoy the scenic views along the way. Once you reach the entrance, you can park your bicycle and prepare for your cave exploration.

Walking

Walking to Nam Lod Cave is not recommended due to the distance (approximately 26 kilometers from Mae Hong Son city center), but if you're up for a long trek, head northwest on Rte. 108. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water and snacks, as this will take several hours. Don't forget to check the weather before starting your journey.
