Public Transportation - Bus
From the Chiang Mai Arcade Bus Station, take a bus heading towards Lampang. The fare is approximately 60-100 THB, depending on the bus type. Upon arrival at Lampang, you will need to transfer to a local songthaew (shared taxi) heading to Chae Son. The fare for the songthaew is around 30 THB. Inform the driver that you are going to Baan Mae jaem, and they will drop you off nearby.

You can also take a train from Chiang Mai to Lampang, which costs around 50-150 THB depending on the class. Once you arrive at Lampang Train Station, you can take a local songthaew to Chae Son.
