If you're driving, start from central locations in the Phi Pan Nam Range. Head south on Route 11 towards Lampang. After approximately 28 kilometers, turn left onto Route 1004 towards Mae Tha District. Continue on Route 1004 for about 10 kilometers until you reach the sign for Wat Prathat Doi Prachan. Follow the signs and drive up the winding road for another 5 kilometers to reach the temple. Parking is available near the temple entrance.
Public Transportation
To reach Wat Prathat Doi Prachan via public transport, catch a local bus or minivan from the Phi Pan Nam Range area heading to Lampang. Once in Lampang, transfer to a bus or songthaew (shared taxi) that goes to Mae Tha District. Inform the driver you want to go to Wat Prathat Doi Prachan. The journey may take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on connections. Note that you may need to pay a fare of approximately 100-200 THB for the bus ride to Mae Tha District.
Taxi
For a more direct option, you can hire a taxi from your location in Phi Pan Nam Range to Wat Prathat Doi Prachan. This is the most comfortable option, but it is also the most expensive. Expect to pay around 800-1200 THB for a round trip, and negotiate the fare before starting your journey. The taxi will drive you directly to the temple entrance.
Motorbike Rental
