Tuk-Tuk
If you are in Patong Beach, find a tuk-tuk station near the beach. You can easily spot them near the main road. Tell the driver you want to go to Black Rock Viewpoint in Karon. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. The driver will drop you off at the base of the viewpoint. From there, you may need to walk uphill for about 10-15 minutes to reach the viewpoint.
Songthaew (Shared Taxi)
From Karon Beach, head to the main road where you can find a songthaew. Look for the ones heading towards Kata or Patong. Board the songthaew and tell the driver you want to go to Black Rock Viewpoint. It should cost you around 30-50 THB and will take about 10 minutes. The songthaew will drop you off at the entrance to the viewpoint, from which you will walk uphill for about 10-15 minutes to reach the top.
Walking
If you're staying in Karon, you can walk to Black Rock Viewpoint. Start at Karon Temple (Wat Suwan Khiri Khet) and head south on Patak Road. Continue until you reach the junction at Karon Beach Road. Take a left and follow the road uphill for about 1 km. Look for signs directing you to the viewpoint. The hike will take around 30-40 minutes, and make sure to wear comfortable shoes as some parts can be steep.
Bicycle Rental
You can rent a bicycle from one of the shops in Karon Beach. Once you have your bike, head towards the north along Karon Beach Road. Follow the road signs towards Kata Beach and continue until you reach the Black Rock Viewpoint sign. The ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive, you will need to park your bike and walk uphill for about 10-15 minutes to reach the viewpoint.
