Public Transportation
From the center of Ranong, head to the Ranong Bus Station (Nakhon Si Thammarat Road). Take a local songthaew (shared taxi) heading towards Ngao district. Inform the driver that you want to visit Phu Khao Ya. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest point to Phu Khao Ya, typically around the entrance of the area.
Walking
Once dropped off by the songthaew, you may need to walk for about 20-30 minutes to reach Phu Khao Ya. Follow the small road leading up to the mountain. Look for signs that direct you to Phu Khao Ya. The scenery will be lush and beautiful, so keep your eyes peeled for local flora and fauna along the way.
Motorbike Rental
If you prefer a quicker option, you can rent a motorbike from one of the rental shops in Ranong. After renting, navigate towards the Ngao district by following the main roads. Use a navigation app to find the shortest route to Phu Khao Ya. It should take about 20 minutes by motorbike. Make sure to wear a helmet and drive safely.
