Getting There

Car
If you are driving from Chiang Mai, take Highway 1 (Superhighway) south towards Lampang. Continue on Highway 1 until you reach the junction for Highway 11 south. Follow Highway 11 until you reach Sukhothai. Once in Sukhothai, follow the signs to Sukhothai Historical Park located at Mueang Kao, Mueang Sukhothai District, Sukhothai 64210. There is parking available near the entrance. Please note that fuel costs will vary based on your vehicle and fuel prices.

Bus
From Chiang Mai, you can take a bus from the Arcade Bus Station to Sukhothai. The journey takes approximately 6-7 hours. Buses depart regularly throughout the day. Once you arrive at the Sukhothai bus station, you can take a local tuk-tuk or songthaew (shared taxi) to Sukhothai Historical Park, which is about 12 kilometers away. Expect to pay around 100-150 THB for the tuk-tuk ride.

Train
Traveling by train is another option. Board a train from Chiang Mai to Phitsanulok, which takes around 8 hours. From Phitsanulok, you will need to take a bus or taxi to Sukhothai, which is approximately 60 kilometers away. The bus ride will take about 1-1.5 hours, and you can expect to pay around 50-100 THB for the ticket. Once in Sukhothai, use a tuk-tuk or songthaew to reach Sukhothai Historical Park.
