From Udon Thani Bus Station (Terminal 1), take a local bus heading towards Mueang Udon Thani District. The buses run frequently, approximately every 15-20 minutes. After about 15 minutes, ask the driver to let you off at the stop for 'Udondutsadi Rd'. Once you get off, walk straight along Udondutsadi Rd for about 500 meters. Wat Matchimawat will be on your left side.
Tuk-Tuk
From your location in Udon Thani, flag down a tuk-tuk and tell the driver 'Wat Matchimawat' or show them the address: 'Udondutsadi Rd, Tambon Mak Khaeng'. The ride should take around 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. Ensure to negotiate the fare before getting in, which typically ranges from 50 to 100 THB.
Motorbike Taxi
If you prefer a quicker option, you can find a motorbike taxi near popular areas like the night market or shopping centers. Inform the driver that you want to go to Wat Matchimawat. The journey will take about 10 minutes, and the fare is usually around 30-60 THB. Make sure to wear a helmet for safety.
Walking
If you are staying close to the city center, you can walk to Wat Matchimawat. Start from the main market area and head towards the east on Mak Khaeng Road. Continue walking for about 1.5 kilometers (approximately 20 minutes). You will reach Udondutsadi Rd, and Wat Matchimawat will be located on your left.
