Car
If you are driving from anywhere in Western Thailand, head towards Chiang Mai. Depending on your starting point, use Route 1 (AH1) or Route 11 to get to Chiang Mai. Once you reach the city center, look for Tha Phae Road. Tha Phae Gate is located at the eastern end of this road. There are parking facilities nearby, but be prepared to pay parking fees which can vary from 20 to 50 THB per hour.
Bus
For those traveling by public transportation, take a bus from your location to the Chiang Mai Bus Station. There are regular services from major towns in Western Thailand to Chiang Mai. Once you arrive at the bus station, you can take a tuk-tuk or songthaew (shared taxi) to Tha Phae Gate. The fare for a tuk-tuk is typically around 100 to 150 THB, while a songthaew should cost about 30 to 50 THB per person.
Train
If you prefer traveling by train, you can take a train to Chiang Mai Railway Station. From the station, grab a tuk-tuk or a songthaew to Tha Phae Gate, which is approximately 3 kilometers away. Expect to pay around 100 THB for a tuk-tuk or about 30 THB for a songthaew.
Airport Transfer
If you are arriving by air at Chiang Mai International Airport, you can take a taxi directly to Tha Phae Gate. Taxis from the airport to the city center will cost around 150 to 200 THB. Alternatively, you can use ride-sharing apps like Grab, which may offer slightly different pricing.
