Unforgettable River Gambia National Park

Once in the country, we looked for an excursion to get as deep as possible into the Gambia River. Even though this excursion was relatively new on the website, we were very interested in the fact that it focused on a different way of doing tourism. We contacted Telemaco and he organized everything overnight. We didn't have any more time and, despite the very short notice, they prepared everything in record time; and, at all times, clarifying all our doubts and questions. The guide, Lamin, came to pick us up directly at our accommodation at the agreed-upon time. Lamin is an excellent person, with a magnificent demeanor and a total intention that you get to know The Gambia FOR REAL. On our five-hour journey to Kuntaur, we were very comfortable. In addition, Lamin made sure that we had breakfast on the way and that we didn't run out of water. Once in Kuntaur, we stayed at Kairoh Garden. A haven of peace and tranquility on the banks of the imposing and beautiful Gambia River. All our meals were included in the agreed-upon price. The first day we took a beautiful bike route through the area. We walked through several traditional villages where they welcomed us, as always in The Gambia, with a wonderful smile. We even visited a horse and donkey recovery center that we loved. The second day we took an unforgettable walk through the local rice fields, interacting on several occasions with the local people. After that, we visited the impressive Wassu stone circles. Finally, the jewel in the crown, an unforgettable trip along the magnificent Gambia River, where we were lucky enough to see hippos and (many) chimpanzees. Thank you, Smiley! Very interesting

This tour was much more interesting than I'd expected. There were only 3 people on the tour so that was good. Our guide (sorry can't remember his name) was excellent, very knowledgeable. A good mixture of heritage and history, we were guided safely around the huge market plus we had encounters with wildlife. What's not to like!
