Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Soma, head west towards the main road (Banjul-Soma Highway). Walk along the highway for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the exit towards Brikama. Continue along this road for about 5 kilometers, passing by small villages and local markets. Keep an eye out for local signage indicating the direction to Wurokang. After 5 kilometers, you will reach a junction. Take the left turn towards Wurokang and continue for another 3 kilometers. The entrance to Brikama Forest Park will be on your right. Look for a sign marking the park.

  • Bicycle

    Rent a bicycle in Soma and start your journey by heading towards the Banjul-Soma Highway. Cycle west for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the exit towards Brikama and cycle straight for approximately 5 kilometers. You will pass by local shops and villages. Watch for directions to Wurokang, and at the junction after 5 kilometers, take the left towards Wurokang. Continue cycling for another 3 kilometers, and look for the entrance to Brikama Forest Park on your right.

  • Public Transport (Bush Taxi)

    From the center of Soma, find a bush taxi heading towards Brikama. These can usually be found at designated taxi stands. Inform the driver that you wish to get off at the Wurokang junction. The ride will take about 15-20 minutes. Once you reach the junction, exit the bush taxi and walk towards the left turn towards Wurokang. After about a 3-kilometer walk, you will see the entrance to Brikama Forest Park on your right.
