Car
If you're driving, start from the capital city of Banjul. Head east on the Banjul-Serekunda Highway. Continue straight for approximately 20 minutes until you reach a junction at Serekunda. Take the right turn at the junction, following the signs for Bijilo Monkey Park. After about 5 minutes, you will see the entrance to Bijilo Monkey Park on your left. Parking is available at the entrance.
Public Transportation (Bush Taxi)
To reach Bijilo Monkey Park via a bush taxi, go to the main bush taxi station in Serekunda. Look for a bush taxi heading towards Banjul and make sure to inform the driver that you want to stop at Bijilo Monkey Park. The ride typically costs around 30 Dalasi (as of last known rates). Once you get dropped off, it’s a short walk to the entrance of the park.
Walking from Serekunda
If you are already in Serekunda, you can walk to Bijilo Monkey Park. Head east along the main road towards the coast. After about 30 minutes of walking, you will reach the entrance of Bijilo Monkey Park on your left. This option is great if you want to enjoy the local scenery along the way.
Cost Information
To enter Bijilo Monkey Park, there is an entrance fee of approximately 150 Dalasi per person. If you choose to hire a guide, it typically costs an additional 50 Dalasi. Be sure to carry some cash, as card payments may not be accepted.
