Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from the city of Sokodé, take the N1 highway towards Tchamba. After about 50 kilometers, look for the sign for the Dapaong Road (also known as the N2). Turn onto the N2 and continue for approximately 40 kilometers until you reach the village of Dissani. Once in Dissani, follow the local signs towards Koutammakou. The destination is approximately 5 kilometers from the village center. Ensure that you have a reliable GPS or map as the roads can be less marked.

  • Public Transportation (Taxi or Bus)

    From Sokodé, you can take a shared taxi or a bus heading towards Tchamba. The journey typically costs around 2,000 CFA francs and takes about 1 hour. Upon reaching Tchamba, transfer to another shared taxi that goes to Dissani. The fare for this leg of the journey is approximately 1,500 CFA francs. Once you arrive in Dissani, you can either walk or take a local taxi to reach Koutammakou, which is just 5 kilometers away. Be sure to negotiate the fare for the taxi in Dissani, which should not exceed 1,000 CFA francs.

  • Walking

    If you are already in Dissani and prefer to walk to Koutammakou, head north from the village center. Follow the main road that leads out of Dissani, and you will see signs directing you toward Koutammakou. The walk is roughly 5 kilometers and should take about 1 hour. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as the path can be uneven at times.
