Getting There

• Car Rental

  If you have rented a car, start your journey from the main town of Neiafu. Head south on the main road towards Ha'atafu Beach. Continue straight for approximately 20 kilometers, passing through small villages and scenic landscapes. Keep an eye out for signs indicating 'Ha'atafu Beach' as you approach. Once you arrive at the beach, there is usually parking available near the entrance. Ensure to check local parking regulations, as some areas may require a small fee.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Ha'atafu Beach via public transportation, head to the main bus station in Neiafu. Look for buses that are heading towards the southern beaches or specifically ask for a bus going to Ha'atafu Beach. The bus ride should take approximately 30 minutes, and the fare is typically around 5 Tongan Paʻanga (TOP). Inform the bus driver of your destination to ensure you get off at the correct stop. Upon arrival, you may have a short walk to the beach area.

• Bicycle Rental

  For the more adventurous, consider renting a bicycle in Neiafu. From the town center, cycle south along the main road towards Ha'atafu Beach. The ride is approximately 20 kilometers long and takes you through beautiful landscapes. It can take around 1 to 1.5 hours depending on your speed. Be sure to wear a helmet and stay hydrated. Once you arrive, you can lock your bike at the designated bike racks or nearby trees.

• Walking

  If you are staying nearby and enjoy walking, you can trek to Ha'atafu Beach. From Neiafu, head south on the main road, following the same route as cars. The distance is about 20 kilometers, which can take approximately 4 to 5 hours. It is advisable to start early in the morning to avoid the heat and carry water and snacks for the journey. Ensure to wear comfortable shoes and sun protection.
