Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Nuku'alofa, the capital of Tonga. Head south on Hihifo Road (also known as the main road). Continue straight for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach a junction at the village of Pangai. Take a right turn at the junction and follow the signs leading to Lokupo Lookout. Note that the final stretch to Lokupo Lookout is on a dirt road that can be rough; a 4x4 vehicle is recommended to avoid potential damage to your car. Be cautious as the road may have potholes and uneven terrain.
Public Transportation
To reach Lokupo Lookout via public transportation, you can take a bus from Nuku'alofa to Pangai. Buses run regularly throughout the day. Once you arrive in Pangai, you will need to hire a local taxi or a private driver to take you the remaining distance to Lokupo Lookout. Be sure to negotiate the fare beforehand, as it may vary depending on your destination and the driver's discretion. Remember that the last part of the journey to the lookout may require a 4x4 vehicle, so confirm with the driver if they have an appropriate vehicle.
