Car
If you are driving from central Mayaro, head southeast on the Main Road (A2) towards Rio Claro. Continue on the Main Road until you reach the junction at Balandra Road. Turn left onto Balandra Road and follow it until you reach an unnamed road that leads directly to Balandra Basins. The last part of the journey may require some off-road driving, as the area is more remote. Be cautious of potholes and uneven terrain. Parking is available near the entrance to the hiking area.

Public Transportation
For those relying on public transportation, take a bus from Mayaro to Rio Claro. Ask the bus driver to drop you off at the Balandra Road junction. From there, you will need to either walk or hire a local taxi to take you to the unnamed road leading to Balandra Basins. The walk from the junction to Balandra Basins is approximately 2 km. Ensure you have small bills ready for the bus fare, which is typically around TT$10-15.

Hiking
Once you reach the unnamed road, prepare for a short hike to Balandra Basins. The area is marked by beautiful natural scenery. The trail is relatively easy but may require sturdy shoes due to the uneven ground. Take plenty of water and snacks, as there are no facilities nearby. The hike should take about 30 minutes, and remember to take your time to enjoy the views along the way.
