Once you reach the park entrance, you will likely need to pay a small entrance fee (around 20-30 TL). After entering the park, follow the signs to Sümela Monastery, which is about a 10-minute drive from the entrance. Parking is available near the monastery.
Public Transportation
To reach Sümela Monastery via public transportation, first, take a dolmuş (shared taxi) from Trabzon to Maçka. The dolmuşes leave from the Trabzon city center and typically cost around 15 TL. Once you arrive in Maçka, you can catch another dolmuş that goes to Sümela Monastery. This leg of the trip will also cost about 10 TL and takes approximately 20 minutes. Be sure to check the return schedule for dolmuşes back to Trabzon, especially if you plan to stay for a while at the monastery.
