Our private food tour in Istanbul was absolutely unforgettable!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exploring both the European and Asian sides of this incredible city gave us such a well-rounded and authentic experience. From bustling markets to hidden local gems, every stop felt thoughtfully chosen and delicious. What truly made the tour exceptional was our guide, Mert. He was incredibly personable, warm, and knowledgeable. Beyond introducing us to amazing local dishes, he shared fascinating history about the beautiful city of Istanbul — from its Byzantine roots to the Ottoman influences that still shape the culture today. His storytelling brought the streets, neighborhoods, and flavors to life in a way we never could have experienced on our own. We loved crossing between continents and seeing how the vibe, food, and atmosphere subtly change from one side of the city to the other. It felt like we experienced two worlds in one day. If you’re visiting Istanbul and want to taste authentic cuisine while learning about the city’s rich history and culture, this private tour with Mert is an absolute must. Highly recommend!

Authentic Turkish Cooking at a Local’s Home in Cihangir

We had a great time!

Sezgi, her mom, and her sister were all REALLY lovely hosts. Very proactive teachers, interested in chatting, super friendly. It really did feel like going over to a friend's house on the holidays and just cooking and hanging out with their family. It was nice to see slice of real Turkish life, since the rest of our vacation is so touristy. Also, we did this cooking class on my friends birthday, and they made a special dessert and put candles in it for her and sang. It was so kind and genuine. Also delicious. The only thing I'd note, if you are staying near all the tourist sites in Old Town, their home is a 30-60 minute Uber ride from Old Town, depending on traffic. I didn't realize that till after we booked! But it was definitely worth the trek.
